The Motor Industry Public Affairs Association (MIPAA) Limited is a dynamic membership organisation helping communicators within the motor industry work more effectively by providing training, workshops, events and opportunities for networking.
With over 400 individual members, MIPAA is the world’s largest network of professional motor industry communicators representing major automotive brands, vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, consultancies and other institutions connected with the sector, in the UK and overseas. Membership of MIPAA is open to anyone working in a communications role in the international motor industry.
There are three types of membership – Full, Corporate and Associate:
Available for individuals who work in a communications role within or on behalf of any company in the international motor industry. Annual subscription: £105.00
Note: Since 2016, full membership has included the opportunity to book places on any MIPAA Business Academy (MBA) educational and professional development courses (including the PR Masterclass and Annual Conference) without additional payment. [See further details below]
Organisations with four or more members (including student associates) benefit from corporate membership, at an easy-to-calculate annual subscription of £100 per member.
Students undertaking a placement in a motor industry PR role may apply for two years’ FREE associate membership. They are eligible to book places at MIPAA Business Academy events without charge (subject to availability of places).
MIPAA members who are no longer working in either public relations / communications or within the motor industry may transfer to associate membership at £60 per year. This allows attendance at MIPAA Business Academy events at a 50% discount over the non-member price. Members wishing to transfer from full to associate membership, should contact General Secretary, Heather Yaxley.

- As a learned society approved by HMRC, MIPAA membership is not subject to VAT.
- Invoice, cheque and BACs payment is subject to the agreement of the MIPAA Executive committee. Email General Secretary [email@example.com] for further details.
All applications are subject to the approval of MIPAA Limited’s Executive Committee and are dependent on proof of eligibility to the satisfaction of the directors in their absolute discretion. On approval of any application by the Executive Committee, membership is dependent upon receipt payment of the non-refundable annual subscription (and joining fee if applicable). Membership (which runs from January each year) is not transferable. Notification of any intention not to renew must be received by the General Secretary by 31 December for the subsequent year.
Liability Statement Note: Full members are eligible to vote on resolutions and stand for elections as a director. MIPAA Limited does not have a share capital, but is limited by guarantee. Members of the company undertake to contribute up to £1 upon a winding up of the company. This is the extent of the liability of the members. MIPAA Limited cannot distribute profits to its members. Submission of an application form indicates concurrence with these conditions.
