MIPAA celebrated the 50th anniversary of CAR magazine with the presentation of a special award that acknowledged the pioneering publication for its high standard of journalism, exceptional photography and a passion for championing the interests of car enthusiasts.
MIPAA Chairman, Al Clarke explained the decision to make this exceptional award:
“CAR magazine pioneered the motoring magazine format as we know and love it today. Over the past five decades, it has emphasised quality journalism on a global basis and is known for its great images and intelligent words crafted into informed articles. In turn, this has helped ensure MIPAA members are rightly acknowledged as the best public relations practitioners in the world. Sometimes, its approach has pushed the industry beyond its comfort zone, but CAR magazine has always been a ‘must read’ publication, renowned for its scoop photographs, critical roadtests, insightful features and the strong opinions of its columnists.”
Accepting the award on behalf of CAR magazine, its Editor, Phil McNamara said:
“The CAR team is honoured to receive this accolade. CAR has been an influential and successful magazine for five decades, and we recognise the support MIPAA’s members have given us to help create some memorable, entertaining and landmark motoring features.”
